Gordon MacDonald

Gordon’s thirty year career spans both Operational Management and Human Resources in the Retail and FMCG sectors at Executive PLC Board level. He has worked for a range of ‘Blue Chip’ companies including Cadbury’s, Levi Strauss, Diageo, Associated British Foods, Safeway, MFI and Wolseley. At MFI he sat on the Main PLC Board as Chief Operating Officer and Chairman of the Risk Committee. His Line Responsibilities covered Retail, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, I.T. and HR both in the UK and Continental Europe. As HR Director of Safeway Gordon oversaw a major business transformation programme which resulted in the rejuvenation of the Company.

As an IDDAS Mentor Gordon supports CEOs and Senior Directors in business turnarounds and managing the people dynamics in transformation situations, focusing on the effective talent management process including selection, coaching and development of people during the change process. He is particularly skilled at identifying senior talent and ensuring that they develop the people management tool-kit to operate as effective leaders.

Gordon is recognised as a keynote speaker at global change management conferences.
